PIXIES, live @ OGR Torino 12-10-2019

In circa tremila persone hanno contribuito al sold-out da tempo annunciato alle OGR per l’attesissimo ritorno dei Pixies a Torino. Dopo il concerto nel 2016 al Flowers Festival in questa occasione nel riportarli in città c’è lo zampino dell’organizzazione del Todays Festival.
Un live riuscitissimo di oltre 2 ore quello che ha visto come protagonista la band di Francis Black che ha presentato il suo nuovo lavoro “Beneath the Eyrie”,uscito a metà settembre, con Paz Lenchantin al basso che ha sostituito definitivamente Kim Deal. La Set list era inesistente, è stata frutto dell’ispirazione del momento di Black che ha dato in pasto al pubblico un generoso mix che ha spaziato dai vecchi successi ai brani più recenti senza saltare i tanto attesi : “Where is my mind?” , “Debaser”, “Here comes your man”, “Hey” , dove la variegata platea di giovani e meno giovani si è scatenata in cori e balli e davanti al palco si è perfino “pogato”.
Bravissima anche la band di supporto i Blood Red Shoes da Brighton, Regno
Unito, che hanno eseguito il loro set di circa trenta minuti , presentando i brani del loro lavoro omonimo. Speriamo che la band di Laura-Mary Carter e Steven Ansel possa tornare in città per una loro data poiché dai pochi brani ascoltati, si sono ottimamente presentati con il loro stile indie-rock.

About three thousand people have contributed to the long-announced sold out at OGR for the long-awaited return of the Pixies to Turin.
After the concert in 2016 at the Flowers Festival on this occasion in bringing them back to the city there is the swagger of the organization of the Todays Festival.
A very successful live of more than 2 hours that saw the protagonist of the band Mr.Francis Black who presented its new work “Beneath the Eyrie”, released in mid-September, with Paz Lenchantin on bass who permanently replaced Kim Deal. The Set list was non-existent, it was the offhand inspiration of Black that gave the audience a generous mix that ranged from old hits to more recent tracks without skipping the much-anticipated : “Where is my mind?” , “Debaser”, “Here comes your man” , “Hey”, where the diverse audience of young and not so young people broke out in choirs and dances and in front of the stage even “moshed”.
The backing band Blood Red Shoes from Brighton, UK, also performed their 30-minute set, presenting the songs from their eponymous work. We hope that Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansel’s band can return to town for their own date as from the few songs we’ve listened to, they’ve come up with their good indie-rock style.
